For which countries is the charger available?
The order book is now open in the Netherlands and Belgium. Other countries will follow later.
Is the charger compatible with Alfen Smart Charging Network (SCN) and Active Load Balancing (ALB)?
During Phase 1 SCN and ALB will not yet be available, but it is our full intent to make these features available as an extension of the Alfen ecosystem as an OTA update. The hardware of the charger is prepared to connect to smart meters using the P1 protocol or Modbus TCP-IP protocol.
What will the price be for the DC charger?

Why 30kW?
Most EVs on the market are capable of charging 30kW DC. 30kW is also ideal based on the typical dwelling times at business and commercial areas like parking garages, offices, supermarkets, shopping malls, etc. With an ideal dwelling time of 1-2 hours, the DC charger offers an alternative which is in between an AC destination charger and a DC fast charger.
Is it Eichrecht certified?
The DC charger is not currently Eichrecht certified, but with intent that it will be available after 2024.
Cable management: How long is the cable and how is it managed?
There is currently a 5-meter-long cable, which is attached to a retractable spring-loaded metal cable. We are currently looking into enhancing the cable management. We intend to share those details as soon as possible. The cable management system will ensure a safe and easy way of use, while preventing wear and tear of the cable and plug.
